No central heating - advice please !
Hi,
I live in a (privately rented) 3 bed maisonette above a shop which has no gas and so no central heating.
Last year winter was bitter, could see our breath inside all the time, beds and bathing were unbareable etc and I was spending up to £100 a month on running electric heaters.
All the heaters were only on for a short while each but it still cost me that amount! Perhaps because of the size of my rooms and because I have no loft or wall space and therefore no availability for insulation.
Any advice on what I can do to keep me and my daughter warm this winter would be gratefully recieved!
Eco heaters or alternatives to electric ones?!
Thanks

Very difficult to think of any thing to improve the heating in the house without spending substantial amounts of money i.e wood burner?
But I must say that at least going to bed will not be such a chore if you get electric blankets which are worth the investment and don't cost that much really.0 -
Hiya, we only put the CH on in short bursts so our house is not to warm... keep moving around doing little choirs. Hot water bottles and hot drinks. buy thermal clothing. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0
