Anyone live in a listed building

Just out of curiosity really !
I live in an 1850's Grade II listed property, a lovely double fronted cottage complete with Yorkshire sash windows and hand made pan tile roof.
Some folk you talk to say what a pain in the posterior they must be, but if I am honest we have never had any problems. I quite like being the custodian of an architecturally important building, its nice to be able to keep something from a period time going and maintaining it keeps me busy and out of mischief.

'Listed' can vary widely though, an 1850s house is fairly modern in housing terms.
If you're in a 1650s house where even the woodworm is listed then it's rather more inconvenient.
"Wartime Farm" showed how to make handmade tiles, if you need a few spares.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
We live in a 1880 Grade II Listed Building. It's listed because it's by a famous architect. But it does have some lovely features. Like mullion windows with leaded glass where all the pieces of glass are different colours - blue, yellow, clear and pink, but only very slightly so you can only really notice it on cloudy days. And the glass is imperfect too - rolled? with bubbles.I am the Cat who walks alone0
