sent two capital one cards instead of one

So i applied for a capital one classic, got it, the pin and activated it just recently but after this i got another pin for a different card number in the mail and now i've got another card in the mail, which appears to be just another capital one classic with the same credit limit.

i assume this is some kind of computer error on their part as i didn't apply for 2 but i do remember the online process being temperamental.

what i want to know is what i should do about this, i'm using the first card i got from them to build a credit rating as up until that point all i had was an overdraft account i never used and being on the electoral roll. Should i snip up the card along with the letter containing the pin and forget about it? should i phone capital one and explain the situation? whats the best option for my credit rating? (assuming any of this affects it at all)

thanks

Good luck with that one. There won't be a script for that!!

OP you should just call and ask to cancel one of the cards. Shouldn't be difficult...
If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...
  • did yhou ask for an additional card holder at all?

if so there is the 2 cards

Well if the OP had done that then presumably the 2nd card would be in the additonal card holder's name and they wouldn't need to post here asking what to do with it...

but OP hasnt said that it has same name on it just that its a 2nd card with 2nd pin

    My suggestion makes most sense

Plus there are companies that will give out a 2nd cardholder card that doesnt have any different info on it to the 1st.

Lets see ask on a internet forum, or ask the company who have sent the cards out....

Thats a real hard question to answer :rotfl:

Just pick the phone up and call them......:T

  • Yep, threads like this really worry me that people do not have the common sense to just pick up the phone and the people that can give 100% accurate response rather than a bunch of randoms that can only speculate!

Still, I guess with one being born every minute there really are a lot of them about.
