Have you checked out gumtree? your local paper? Local noticeboards - for example in shop windows? You could always put your own notice up. 'Wanted a house for me and my 2 children.... etc etc'.
You are unlikely to get very far with agents so I suggest you don't waste your time paying them any more money.
Have you thought about taking in a lodger? You could have a Mon-Fri type lodger or a foreign student or local uni student? It's not ideal but you may need to consider it. Of course you would make absolutely clear your situation and thorughly vet any potential lodgee. Lodgers don't have many rights so in the very worst case scenario you could ask them to leave on the spot or you could easily give them 1 weeks notice if things weren't working out.
I doubt you would actually end up homeless as the council would surely have to rehouse you just before the bailiffs arrive? and by that time there could be spaces.

Your agent has to supply you with the address of your landlord (pretty sure of this), I suggest your approach the landlord directly and appeal to their need for a reliable tenant, Hopefully you have a history of paying on time, keeping the place in good order etc. Most landlords would rather keep a good tenant than lose one. The rental can continue through the agency (or not) if the landlord agrres to keep you.
good luck.
suggest working as an LSA, the pay isn't much different from agency teaching and you are more likely to get a contract with a school/LES0 -
Not sure on the lodging thing though.....cant rent a room as have the 2 kids and people wont accept this, unless you mean something else and I am just being daft and not understanding.
I have asked round family/friends but nobody has that money, my mother is retired so cant help.
I am looking in other areas: very cheap ones have no links to the school, as in no bus or train links. The closest that does is 30 miles away and I wont get help with transport.
The council wont bump me up the list. They say there are B & B's but the closest with spaces is nearly 50 miles away and they advise me to swap schools for both DD's and yes they have advised me to be evicted:D:) not really what I want as noone will rent to me then and I will be truely homeless.
You might get lucky and find someone who is looking for lodgers/ HMO tenants for, say, a three story house where the landlord lives in a ground floor flat. You and the kids would be in a converted attic or have your own floor to yourselves so you aren't disturbing anyone: it's not common but it can happen.
Councils say a lot of things when someone first gets a section 21 notice to quit, they want private tenants to look for alternative accommodation not wait it out and get social housing. If you need to go through the full process of getting evicted, even do as you say and split the family if you really must, you will be bumped up the list as urgent if you are technically homeless. You might have to get letters from the school saying it would be detrimental to their education and wellbeing to change schools mid year or some such. Be sure you are on the list now, even if at the very bottom.
Also don't be scared to get your MP and ward councilllors on the case if the council are being @rses later in the game, they can fight your corner regarding rehousing and your daughters not having to change schools.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Take all the paperwork you have and go to your local CAB (use this link http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice.htm go to the bottom of the page and insert post code to find your nearest CAB).
I'd also advise going to see your councillor/MP to ask advice.
You might find something useful on Gumtree.., LL's who have properties on there are more likely to listen to a tenant who can prove they are up to date with the rent etc.
I'd also reinforce the advice to contact the landlord. If you are still in the fixed term part of your tenancy and up to date with your rent, it should not be possible to evict you. If you are on a rolling tenancy it is.., with two month's notice. As others have said though.., they have to have served you will a legally correct S21, two months from there they can issue an eviction notice (but have to take you to court for that, getting a court date could take time especially the closer it gets to Christmas) and then get baillifs to actually evict you. So u should have a bit more time than 2 months.
Get advice though. Housing (I know to my cost) are not the best people for advice. Try the CAB and your local councillor or MP.0
