Easier than ebay - Swapping, EggDrop, ebid

First,
I still think ebay is the safe money maker in general.
However, if your time and sanity is worth something it pays to check out the alternatives. The fees are a bit high as well but usually this pays off in a high sell price for me so it's just a matter of convenience.
1) Swapping sites:
Other than selling things for money on Gumtree or Ebay you can swap things. I'm trying to get into this because I find ebay is a lot of hassle.
Unlike ebay you don't have tax returns paperwork & bills to pay. It's also quicker to list things.
If you have a load of stuff you don't really need but don't need to get rid of quickly I'd suggest putting it on sites like Swapz.
I have a campervan, a phone & 2 UK flybe flights on there at the mo!
However, as with Gumtree I would definitely say buyer beware, more so than ebay. It attracts some criminal activity from non professional criminals aka people who think they're being "a bit naughty" but haven't got the balls to do the crime for money. People like a teenager who wants a better phone and wants to get rid of their broken one. As such I say watch out! But don't let it put you off and it's only a little bit more common than your usual ebay frauds.
I like the idea of swapping and getting things done without money and this is my main reason for posting this here. I would love to see many more things available to barter.
2) Eggdrop:
Eggdrop is a ton easier than ebay. It's an app for your iphone or Android. You just take a picture, add a title and set the price.
Sadly it's very quiet in my area but if you live in Manchester or London it's rather good. Watch out for Nigerian scammers as usual. I've listed about 40 things on there purely because it's so much easier than ebay.

Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker

I have been with them for around 9 years now and have never even sold enough to cover my lifetime membership fee.

Well I agree it seems like ebay & paypal have it sewn up. With regards to eBid.
I've been a member for almost 10 years. Hardly sell anything at all. I basically use it to park stuff there until eBay do one of their 'no insertions fees' promotions.

Personally i don't find ebay hard to list on. I list I sell I make money not much more I can ask for. Items not sutable for ebay I either gumtree or free ad in our local paper.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

I do still read the forums on ebid and there is a great one of the new seller thread. Someone has joined ebid because nasty awful ebay keep removing their listings for being in breach of the duplicate listing policy and they need duplicate listings to make it easier for buyers to buy.
