New with tag items - include RRPs?

I've listed 12 dresses on eBay, and two of them have picked up a fair bit of interest. I can see the final price possibly going way beyond the price on the tags.
I didn't write the tag amounts in my postings, and I don't know whether I should. Would someone feel cheated if they paid £40 for a dress then get it and find that the price tag says £22?
So, when an item has the price tag included is it correct eBay etiquette to include the amount, or not?

Are they items that have completely sold out in the shops? I remember dawn french going on TV last year with a beth ditto top on an it sold out really quickly- then people were going on ebay and bidding up to £100 for the top- popular and sold out= big money.
So if its something that has been popular and has sold out- then no, people will bid what they are willing to pay.
Maybe just add the price to the listing. That way people can retract their bids if they wish and if they complain you have the listing to prove you put what you paid.0 -
I don't think you're obliged to write the price tag price on your listing and I have seen plenty of listings - and bought a number of BNWT items - where the seller hasn't included original price. But if your start price was higher than the tag price that would be a bit cheeky!
That said, people can be funny and pay lots for things not worth as much and I have found this week that a low starting price with an auction can mean your item sells for a lot more than others have it listed as a BIN. *shrugs*
The only issue might be the buyer might get miffed when they see the actual price you paid and decide to somehow take it out on you in feedback or, worse, think they have a right to demand the balance back from you (not that they'd get anywhere doing so but could open an INR or SNAD and have you over a bit of a barrel... is it worth the hassle?)
Can you remove of deface the price sticker in any way? Maybe black marker across it or peel it off carefully? It would make sense to not reveal the original price if you can."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
If it goes for more than you paid, there's normally a detachable section at the bottom where the price is - take this bit off. What the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over!0

agree with last post. just remove the price. you never said how much the RRP was so don't fret....you're not obliged to0

OK thanks:) I haven't set listings at any price, but I will remove the prices. I suppose the main point of selling tagged clothes is to prove that they haven't been worn.0

I once saw in someones feedback for a Paul Smith Coat "Should have removed the TKMaxx tags from the pocket before sending"
Made me laugh :P I'm assuming they paid a lot more for it than the tags said. They still left positive fb though.
I sold a used bottle of perfume on there with the price on the box clearly shown in the photo, and I still got £89 for it. I almost fainted when I looked. I almost threw it in the bin cos it gave me a headache lol. Can't remember what the price on the box was, but I know it was less than £890
