Good evening everyone - very quiet on here today?
Well, at last starting to feel a little better day by day and had a good back to work interview and a nice phased back to work plan in place to ease me back in after all of this and no chance of me being overloaded to bring it all back on - very good managers.
Secondly, had a WI - have STS - pleased with that as I've been lounging on the settee for 5 weeks and no exercise for all that time, plus quite a bit of chocolate and cake has been eaten over the last few weeks.
Thirdly, have paid off a large chunk from the credit cards and that continues onwards and upwards.
Fourthly, have looked at downbranding further and have looked for a new hairdresser as wasn't too keen on the last one I tried after changing salons after my previous hairdresser I had for years went on maternity leave. Have emailed a mobile hairdresser for an appt to see how that goes and if all goes ok that's another £15 chopped off the bill. If not, I'll go back to my original place and swallow the price for a bit longer
What else? Had another little think about the work christmas do outfit and came up with 3 options after giving myself a stern talking too about not buying any more outfits to go and to wear what I have - have 3 options. Only things I will possibly buy myself are a new nail varnish for maximum price of £2.99 and a new belt if I can find a suitable one anywhere and be strict on the price of course!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Had a good day foodwise today so far but a rubbish one otherwise - have an eye infection and a streaming cold - looking gorgeous!!
The only good thing is that I don't have much of an appetite:o
LL - that's outrageous - get her sacked! Silly moo!
Sparkles - good news on the STS - well done in the face of adversity!
Pod - I don't know how you fit the writing in with everything else - you are superwoman!
Hello to everyone else and especially the newbies:beer:
Off to find some vaseline to put around my nose to stop it chapping with all the nose wiping - yet another good look for me - I am the least fab person in the world today:rotfl:0 -

WW, I find that the one with aloe vera is really soothing when I've got a chapped nose from too much blowing!0 -

Good morning All
Welcome Pamsdish.
It's chucking it down here.....
Just waiting for electrician, purchaser's survey also being done today so it's a waiting in day.
Just going to hit the phones and start booking some viewing appts for rentals. Managed to change solicitors, she will be happy to visit OH to sort everything out. What a difference.
Had an absolutely fab-u-lous day yesterday. Decided I needed a day off so met up with a friend for a day of mooching, shopping and eating.....:D
Kitchen showrooms, furniture warehouses and ended up at good old Ikea where I bought a beautiful but totally useless huge blue glass vase. I am a sucker for nice glassware. Don't know where I'm going to put it but at £10 it was too good to miss and it matches a large glass bowl that I've had for years, also Ikea.
Over the years I've had several offers for the bowl so perhaps they are future heirlooms - design classics.:rotfl: I do like Ikea - they have some great ideas and can be quite reasonably priced. I also bought some of those drawer dividers - ready to help me declutter and get organised.
I've been thinking what to do about my hair. I do like Judi Dench's short crop. (going back to Bond on Sunday). One thing I did notice was that in her role as "M" she wears some great tailored clothes, smart jackets etc.
Anyway I need to get cracking. I cannot believe how quickly things are moving now. I did not expect to sell my house in 3 weeks and I'm having to really get my skates on to get things done.
Pod - you sound rushed of your feet girl. Don't wear yourself out - you need some "you" time.0 -

A while back I did an internet search for remedies for paper-like cuts on fingers accompanied by very dry skin, during the winter, which I've experienced for the last few years. Some of the solutions included zinc oxide, lanolin and glycerin. I found all of them in Johns*n's baby nappy cream....and it healed my hands a treat and has kept them in great condition since!!!
When I caught a cold a couple of weeks ago, like you, I wanted to prevent that sore-from-blowing-your-nose problem, I thought I'd give this same cream a shot....and it worked!!! It's a lot less messy than vaseline and rubs right in, leaving no greasiness!
I think probably any nappy cream containing zinc oxide would work, as that is the skin healer.

Morning all,
evilsquid - I wasn't very keen on the Twilight 'twist' either - I didn't think it was necessary and I really don't see the need Hollywood seems to have to 'over' dramatise everything - the book version had plenty of action in anyway. I hope work sorts out moving you soon x
Sparkles - am glad you seem to be finally on the mend, and good that your work are being so helpful with phasing you back in.
ww - Lol, I could do with a bit of super speed to get things done :rotfl:hope you're feeling a bit better, I've been a bit stuffy the last few days, hope it's not the start of one for me too - not what I need at the moment!
LL - thanks hun, that's why I was trying to fit some more 'fun' things in at weekend as I was getting a bit frazzled with everything. It was nice but means I need to play catch up now! Sounds like things are moving along - and am glad you managed to get a new solicitor sorted so soon.
Well, I have some news - just heard back on the fast track submission I did to a big publisher last month, and they said they really liked it and want to see a full manuscript!! :jAm so excited - I really was debating so much on whether it was even worth bothering trying it and it just goes to show. Of course, since the manuscript they want to see is the one I'm working on for Nano then I need to get it finished first :rotfl:hopefully extra incentive to get on with it now though! Fabbing wise, did a deep condition on my hair Monday so looks quite nice, must get my nails sorted tonight, looking really chipped and have a meeting for a wedding job tomorrow after work so need to look presentable!
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Hmmm not sure why I bothered showering and doing my hair this morning as got soaked. Once n school run and then again walking the pooch. It's not stopped raining all night
on the plus side I guess it's not freezing cold so could be worse.
Survived my first fast yesterday. Was quite surprised as I thought I'd be chewing my own arm off by tea time but I wasn't. Doing it again tomorrow so need to get organised with what I am eating.
Other than that no fabbing. Hair looks a mess now, back is aching and I've got last bit of painting to do. Ho hum no rest of the wicked
Pod if you need me to give you a kick up the bum just shout
Pamsdish welcome to the thread
WW feel better soon xxxx

Evil sorry to hear about work issues, hope it gets sorted soon xx

Hope it continues to go well for you. This is the first diet or eating plan that I've found works for me. I've lost another pound. :jIt's slow but sure and that suits me because I think there's more chance of keeping it off that way.
Other than that no fabbing. Hair looks a mess now, back is aching and I've got last bit of painting to do. Ho hum no rest of the wicked
I feel the same! I am constantly on the go. I've made myself sit down for a bit this morning whilst waiting for the rain to stop but probably won't get chance again today! Now my mum wants me to decorate for her too.I must have been very wicked.:rotfl:
Glad you've got the solicitor sorted LL good ones seem to be hard to come by from what I've heard.
Welcome to all the new additions.
Aside from the yoga, basic fabbing and 5:2 diet I'm still too busy to fit much else in. Have an assignment due in Jan but need to the ground work now and don't want to be doing it at xmas so need to get on with that. Still decorating at home and at others homes. Did manage to declutter my walk in cupboard, you can now actually walk in!DS3 still not managed to find a job and think the promised interview was an empty promise as he's heard nothing since.
Trying not to think too far ahead tbh because I'm beginning to think there's no way out of our situation. A friend has been informed that he has to pay towards his rent out of his JSA and if so will probably not be able to eat properly. It's been their home for 30+ yrs, it's disgusting forcing people from their homes. It's likely they will end up in a private rented bedsit/flat as they are only entitled HBfor 1 bedroom from April 2013. Universal credits are going to make it so much harder to make work pay and if things don't change that will be our situation in a few yrs. I'm beginning to think I'll end up doing several p/t jobs and even if I go self employed will probably need to do something else aswell. Looks like it's back to the good old days when you worked, slept, worked and had no time or money for leisure.
DD1 is off work again with depression and seems to be constantly up and down. Am worried she will lose her job if this goes on.
Right am off into the rain.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler
