Living alone, heating using only 1 electrical heater?

When I move out, I am concerned over bills. Is it possible to put an electrical heater in room where you are in, eg living room/office during the day and then at night move it to the bedroom. I reckon it would cost around £1 a day to heat the room which is cheap, but is this a good idea?

Depends on your personal choice & dwelling
I live alone and work from home in a 3 bed house. During week-days in the winter I run a 1or 2 Kw fan heater whilst working in my office - It's a very small office - and unless it's really freezing weather only run the Oil Fired Central heating system for about 4 hours in the evening

    Depends.

Is this electrical heater fitted with a normal 13A plug?

Do both rooms have a suitable socket available for you to plug such an electrical heater into?

Are you capable of carrying the electrical heater from room to room?

How have you calculated that it will only cost £1 per day?
A typical 3kW heater will cost about 40p per hour to run.
  • I think on my electric rate a 3kw fire would cost 27 pence an hour. It depends on what tariff you are on and cost per kw.

It might be cheaper to put the CH on for a wile?
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)
  • At night if you are under a duvet then you wouldn’t need the heating on. Also if you get a halogen heater, then you can adjust it by bar and they usually tend to go by increments of 400w
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.
