Student on home insurance

Hoping someone can advise me, my son has just gone off to uni, and our home insurance is up for renewal shortly. I think i need to add him onto our policy to cover his belongings while he is at uni, but do I add him as a joint policy holder along with myself and my OH?

Depends on the policy wording.
Mine includes belongings of members of the family whilst at university. No need on mine for them to be named.0 -
It is a feature that a policy typically either has or doesnt have rather than being an optional extra. Certainly adding them as a joint policyholder will do nothing in terms of providing cover in his own home0
