My son has outgrown another few pairs of jeans and most of them have holes in the knees so can't sell them on - looking for an OS way of reusing them. Was thinking of making a draught excluder for door but looking for other ideas that will reuse them x

I keep having ideas for jeans but never actually doing anything with them!
I freecycled a load to a lady who was making a lovely rag rug with them. I think she was cutting long strips, tying them together, braiding or plaiting the strips to the right thickness and then coiling it up and sewing it in place.
Other ideas I've had include handbags, ferret play tunnels, aprons and skirts.
If you can't sell them on as jeans but are handy with a sewing machine, why not turn them into shorts with a hem and turn-up then sell them on like that? Might not actually sell until the weather warms up again, but that gives you time to work on them.
Alternatively, cut the legs off, open them out removing the thick seams (use for the strings), and put them together to make a piece of fabric big enough to cut an apron shape out of - would be great for your son if he is crafty! He could even decorate it with fabric paint etc.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -

Years ago I covered a sofa in denim. I didn't actually reupholster it (that would be way beyond my abilities, just made it a slipcover.) It was an Ikea Klippan and looked a bit like THIS except without the pockets - I loved it. Maybe you could do something like that, if you had enough jeans.0
