Isn't it just saying that the magazine offer plus the free gift costs £12? That is how I took it.0

It's not hard to work out
Subscription Term: Annual Direct Debit + FREE Wise Woman Range by The Body Shop @ £12.00
(@ £12.00 ) @ = at,
Not what the goods are worth.0 -
I have just applied and my account will be debited £12, as satan666wayne says the £12 is the direct debit charge for the magazine.
Its a very good deal on its own when you consider that the mag is about £3.00.Jellynose0 -
I checked on the Tesco Clubcard Deals section for Eve magazine and downloaded the PDF and there is nothing stating that the freebies will not be included. The first I knew about this was when I spied the magazine in the shop with a free bag attached (they are always great for the beach!) and realised that my delivered copy was without it. I looked at some paperwork that I had from Eve and it said that "some subscriptions are not eligible for promotional items" (although you still get all the litter leaflets inside). I have written to eve but not heard back yet. I think it is to do with the Clubcard Deal as when I've had subscriptions with Eve I've always got the freebies. Feel really cheated.0

I contacted SHE to complain about not receiving free gifts - I got them for the first couple of issues, then they stopped. The first time it happened they said they would send it to me (but they didn't!) and the second time it happened they said that it was their policy not to send free gifts to subscribers, can't remember the exact excuse, but something to do with postage costs. I have subscribed to various magazines over the years but SHE is the only one that has stopped sending free gifts.
The same is also true with Prima - you often don't get the gift when you subscribe.

Hi,
I subscribe to Zest magazine and last year was very disappointed that one of the free gifts available in the shops was not in my mag. I gave customer services a call and was told that only the paper freebies were included - mini diet books etc and if I remember correctly this was something to do with the postage of written material costs much less than other things eg a beach bag. (I am not sure how much, but probably vat free or something so might add a lot to their overall postal bill.)
I explained that I was not warned about this when I subscribed (it is quite a recent thing I believe) and they sent me the freebie by seperate post with a letter reminding me that although I got no freebie I still paid much less than in the shops -not the point!!

seems like the SHE offer is now closed though:rolleyes:
It's only a game

This is the response I received from eve magazine when I complained about not getting the freebies.
Eve have given great consideration to the distinction between subscribers and newsstand readers and the package of benefits that each receive.
1. Subscribers are offered a heavily reduced rate and/or a gifted offer – this deal is not available to newsstand readers. At the moment, subscribers are offered a minimum saving of 25% – this is often accompanied by a gift with a value of between £30 and £40. As a result, Eve no longer feel it is economically viable to include cover mounts on subscriber copies, especially where a large discount is being given on the price of the subscription.
2. Subscribers receive a number of exclusive loyalty offers, for example, competitions within their delivery envelope, this not available to newsstand readers. Eve intends to increase and improve the loyalty offers for subscribers, and this will include special discounts on selected retailers as part of their subscription package.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience that this may have caused you.
I am going to go back to them because this was not made clear when I took out the subscription so I could not make an informed decision. Nowhere did it say at the time of subscribing that the issue would be any different from that you could buy at the newsagent. Also, one of the big benefits to them of having subscribers is that they can use that to attract advertisers (ie. their circulation is a subscriber base of x amount and newsagent sales of x) and also they hope that people forget to cancel their direct debits and continue at an escalated cost (often the good deals are for first time subscribers). Wasn't quick enough- offer now seems to have closed.0
