Lloyds rewards points on CC

My mum has a lloyds credit card which earns rewards points currently at approx 2000+. She wants to switch to the duo card to get avios because she is not using the rewards points. When she spoke to lloyds they said the points she earnt on that scheme would not be transferred
however...
whilst working for airmiles/avios (don't shoot it was just a job) during the change over I had a conversation with a customer who had built up points on his lloyds card then had been switched over on to the airmiles/avios duo card. His points where not transferred over at first either however he did pursue it and had to go to the financial ombudsman who told lloyds they had to issue him with the avios equivalent to the points previously on his card.
Although he had significantly more points than my mum does. Has anyone heard of any other cases like this? or any information/existing threads that may help me as I would like to go back to lloyds and get them to give her some avios for the reward points.

    What are the points worth?

Can they be cashed in now?
  • The old points system that TSB had with their credit card is totally different to the airmiles/avios system.

There is a telephone number on the credit card statement for customers to ring about redeeming the points.

they can be cashed in for 10% off a purchase at the participating stores however the items cannot be returned (and my mum like to return things) and the vouchers you are given have to be purchased through the scheme. i.e purchase £200 worth of vouchers get 10% off that and take vouchers to store to make purchase on laptop/tv/etc

and yes different points system but same card. years ago lloyds changed from this duo card (mastercard and amex) with their own rewards points on it to the airmiles/avios duo card.
i'm not saying it should be 1 point to 1 avios but something at the very least.

  • The duo card never offered points - the old TSB mastercard or visa did.
