I'm employed and self-employed, am I covered?

Hi there,
First time poster here. Hello!
I've been paying off a loan for a number of years. I took out PPI for the loan thinking I'd be covered but I heard that being self employed can invalidate a claim.
I don't have my policy details on hand at the moment do I can't check myself. I definitely told the bank that I was employed AND self-employed when I was there and before I signed up to the policy. If I was to lose my job I wouldn't be able to make payments on my loan. However, I would still be classed as self-employed (it's a small sideline hobby-turned-business that makes VERY little money). Would I be able to make a claim?
And does this mean that I have been mis-sold the policy? As stated, I don't have the policy documents to check the small print (my filing skills leave a lot to be desired). Does anyone on here have any advice for me? I find all this contractual legal mumbo very confusing!
Thanks in advance!
Matt

The definitive answer can only come from your lender.0 -
