Final spend of the month (I hope!) at £21.19. A bit more than a usual weekly shop for me, but included a few yellow sticker goodies (lamb steaks down to £1.69, Wyke farm 500g cheddar for £1. Plus laundry stuff and a moment of weakness on BOGOF pizza and it all adds up!
Might need to grab some milk and fruit in the week but that should be fine with my remaining £8. Yay! :jGC Oct: £71.22/£80 = £8.78 left0 -
Thanks for the suggestions about the booze - will take a look around at the weekend to see what bargains I can get! I think it will still come out of entertainment budget but the cheaper the better anyway!1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

Hi all,
Been to Lid! and Mr T today and spent less than £20, which is good because I've only got just over £20 to last me the rest of the month. However, OH is away for the weekend which means I can eat really cheaply, and we are both away the weekend after with all costs already accounted for, so I think it's doable.....just. x0 -

Spent €68 between Lidl and Aldi yesterday, bringing total October spend to €162.97 and leaving me with the princely sum of €12.03 for 12 days, so we should be living in the lap of luxury...to be fair, I have enough meat and fish for dinners and will not need much else....seem to think that at this time every month!

I include wine in my grocery budget, because like some others, that is the total amount I want to spend... When my budget is tight, I simply dont buy any.
When I can afford it, I buy wine on offer or 3 for £10 etc so if I do need a bottle to give to someone or just fancy a glass at home, then there are some there without having to buy a more expensive bottle from the corner shop!
HTH
My problem with doing this is that if it's in the house, I'll probably drink itwhich makes me sound really bad - in fact I never have more than half a glass a day otherwise it makes me feel bad :rotfl:. But if it's there, I'd have half a glass a day until it's all gone . Will power - there must be some round here some where :rotfl:.
Spent 15.00 in Asda on reduced meat and veg. Very pleased with what I go as all half price or less, but am seriously considering if its wotth the risk to life and limb.
The reduced cabinet is quite small and there is really only room for two people at a time to look,Iwaited patiently for my turn but a man behind me reached over my shoulder and I got smacked in the face with a 6 pack of salmon steaks as he hauled it out. never even said sorry just went away quick.
How rude - I hope you were OK.katholicos wrote: ȣ4.50 today @ arrsda. Heinz soup is currently 50 p a can in one nearby, possibly nationwide. Brought 7 cans and 2 litres of milk.
Thanks, that's a good deal :T.
I haven't been able to post much this week as I'm now in the final year of my degree and have loads of work to do. I will still try and post at the weekend though. Grocery wise, I think I will go over a bit again this month, although I've done well the last 2 weeks so I'm hoping that I can learn from this for next month.
One major thing for me though is that I really do seem to have kicked the habit of spending in supermarkets on things I don't need. I just go, get what I need and come back - wonders will never cease :rotfl:.Pay debt in 2012 #278 £2347/£5364

Morning All
I have not had much chance to read and post this month and I can tell in that I have not been noting all my spends except the big shops and have gone over. I have been using Mr S and Mr T instead of Ald1 and Arsda which also always puts my bill up, taking DH never helps either.
I have drawn a line under October and started my November challenge yesterday with:
£14.74 organic veg box and 2 ltrs of organic skimmed milk
£6.00 M&S - 16 sausages and reduced GF loaf
£94.62 Mr T - big shop
The Mr T was a delivery, something I never really do but DH thought it was great as it saved us a good couple of hours of our Friday night. Stocked up on a lot of household stuff. Why does it always run out at the same time? Also took advantage of the half price chicken breast offer and got 4 packs. Thats enough chicken for about 6 weeks.
I also got all the ingredients for 4 christmas cakes, 2 stocking fillers for DS and some chocolates on offer which I discovered were gluten free:T This came out of a different budget though.
I also used a £8 off voucher. I have another 4 weeks worth of these for £80 spends. I am going to stick with the Mr T delivery this month and see if it can help me stick to my budget.
I have set a generous budget for November of £500 for 5 weeks. I say generous but I have always spent more than this. If I can maintain £100/week for the next couple of months I will set about reducing it in the new year when I have got back into my OS ways as they have slipped somewhat this year.:o
I have made achieving and reducing the grocery spend in our house my main money goal, a sort of early new year's resoloution. I really need to have a savings buffer and I can't do it if we spend every penny we get (although luckily no debts). The grocery spend is one of the areas we overspend but is one I can have a lot of control over so I am going to focus on that:D
Apologies for the long post. I will be reading and posting this month to keep me on track.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Morning all, just caught up with the last couple of pages whilst eating my breakfast!
This week I've spent £55.96 spread between my big shop at L!dl and top ups at Mr M. Will need to pop out for eggs, milk and rolls later though as about to use up last of eggs making lemon drizzle cake, yum!
The chicken we roasted mid week went on to provide 2 curries, the carcass is now bubbling away and the stock will be used for soup for lunch.
Can't remember who posted about chick peas but you can get 400g cans of KTC chick peas at morrisons for 25p at the moment (usually 33p). Naturally they are not with the other tinned pulses, they're in the world food aisle. We use them all the time in curries etc.
Have a good weekend all.:)Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
