I have set-up a new profile on AVS called iphone 5 on which i have inreased the framesize to 1136x640 as you advised.
Have just converted a film which has worked great. I decided to leave the bitrate at 1800 as the film converted to just over 1.5gb with this and didnt want to go much larger

also if/when a jailbreak is released for Iphone 5, then download 'VLC Player' app from Installous. Plays every video format under the sun so no need to faff around with converting files.
(VLC player app is no longer available in the official app store)0
