I noticed on the news Tony Blair announcing the election in Britain, why no elections for Northern Ireland ?
Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.

Am I being paranoid or was my post about Northern Ireland not being a part of Great Britain removed.
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; note - Great Britain includes the countries of England, Scotland, and Wales.
So when Tony said, "Britain" I thought he was excluding Northern Ireland deliberately because of the ongoing situation with some Sinn Fein MP's.Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
Someone explained all this to me ages ago (and to be honest I wasn't paying that much attention) ... I think it was something along the lines of ...
Great Britain covers England, Scotland and Wales
United Kingdom covers England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands etc.
Britain is sometimes used instead of United Kingdom
Damned confusing isn't it ....
