Carry-on Backpack - for Ryanair, but not CabinMax?

Anyone have any suggestions for a backpack suitable for Ryanair? I hate the feeling of stress when they come around measuring...
I've seen the CabinMax backpack, which are affordable, but apparently really poor quality and don't last many trips. Ideally, I'd like the reuse the backpack everyday.
I was thinking the Tatonka Flightcase: -but it's not clear whether the front pockets bulge out to be over size. Also a bit pricey.
Or possibly Lowe Alpine TT --- as it looks a more versatile backpack; though it's 3cm too big
Any advice?? THanks!

I've been using a Trespass Albus backpack for a few years now - as hand luggage for ryanair and as backpack whilst away. Reasonable sight, lightweight and numerous secure pockets. It's 24.99 online but if you have a Trespass outdoor gear shop in your town , check it out - they nearly always have a sale on and sell these at 14.99.
With a reasonably sized backpack - as long as they are are not rigid framed, they can usually be squeezed into the Ryanair cage.0 -
Do you find 25L big enough? I see some of the 'max' backpacks nearing 40L0

If the pockets bulge out then just don't put anything in the front pockets?
Though in my experience, Ryanair don't check the dimensions of backpacks (unless it's obscenely large). Probably not worth the risk to go slightly bigger if you have no way of rearranging it to make it fit (i.e. stuff half a suitcase in your pockets!) but in my 15 odd flights with them I haven't been checked once, nor have I seen others get checked, though every single suitcase around me was.0 -

We have 2 cabin max bags, had them for about 3 years.
We have used them a lot and the quality of ours is excellent.0 -
Big enough depends on if you're travelling hand lugagge only and what you need to take . I've done a couple of week long trips with the one 25L bag. Packing becomes a bit of an art - reducing the shoes you take to wearing one + sandals in the bag for example. You might need to think about washing a few bits whilst your away and avoiding stuff available at the other end anyway e.g. hairdrier. Wear your big stuff e.g. warmer top / coat and put Books/Kindle/phone etc in coat pockets.
Like callum9999 I've never had my backpack checked by Ryanair even when all the trolley cases were. They know that unless it's stuffed with bricks it won't be too heavy and that it's not a rigid fixed shape oversized box to target for extra fees.0 -
I saw a rucksack being checked on my last flight out from BHX with Ryanair in April. He was asked to put it in the cage and the cheeky perisher stuffed it in the Easyjet cage instead. When asked to transfer it he shouted to his mate "Are we travelling with Ryanair or Easyjet?" (they were standing in the Ryanair queue).
It didn't pass!Normal people worry me.0 -

Strange, was it normal sized? Maybe the people checking baggage were particularly stroppy that day!0 -
