One Call Charged £28 cancellation after 2 days!

Hi! I cancelled my insurance with these charlatans after 2 days due to admin errors, unable to get through and links with a finance company called creation finance they said was just to collect direct debit, who when googled had nothing but concerns and problems.

After 2 days and within my 14 day period they charged me £28 which was more than 10 percent of premium. When I queried his response was we could charge you more as in T&C. Can they do
this?

An absolute rip off, poor service, rude staff, cut off twice on calls, errors on documents and links to a questionable credit company. I would seriously suggest anyone does not use them, I hate to think what they are like with a claim!

You need to check the ts + cs!

(Many companies do impose a cancellation charge whenever you cancel, and if you were under cover for the 2 days, then that premium would normally be chargeable too - you would have expected them to pay out to you had you experienced a claim during the 2 days)

It it is the T&C they can. Cancelling within the cancellation rights period does not mean you cannot be charged. It means they can only charge pro-rata on the premium plus an administration charge. £28 does not sound unreasonable.

  • Compared to many this is a low cancellation cost!

Some charge £50 admin fee for any change never mind cancelling.

So although it sounds a lot to you, It really could have been a lot more.

If you pay monthly a lot of companies use 3rd party finance companies.
Nothing wrong with that. As long as you see the charges up front.

My sister used a a company direct something? Her premium was £400. Paying by installments added £80.
The company i was with only charged £27 for a similar premium.

If your not happy with that then your choice is obtain the money from elsewhere and pay in full.

Just because it's in the terms doesn't mean you can't claim it back.

There is a similar argument about murdering your wife - just because it's against the law doesn't mean you can't do it.
