    But the landlords buying so many BTL's has caused less houses to buy which has pushed prices up which has priced more out and caused more rental demand.

    Tougher regulation on the market is needed I think.

    There are loads of accidental landlords out there.
    Can't sell: negative equity, no buyer (cannot get mortgage), etc.
    Some people have moved back to mummy's, so they can rent it out to pay the mortgage.
