As far as i am aware prepay meters are more expensive especially as you run into negative credit. Why not have a metered account and pay by d/d monthly?

i am using prepayment meters for both my gas and electric.they are more expensive than other methods but although im not in arrears now,i did owe about £400 arrears for the gas and about£200 for the electric cos i paid so much each month at the p.o.they wre installed to help me with the arrears and i have kept them eversince.this way i can never get into debt again and always know how much fuel i have.theres an emergency credit so you always have some and it comes off the next top up you do.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

I agree with liamgt in that paying by direct debit will be cheaper, however, if like the idea of carrying on a prepayment meter, I think you need to look for Equipwer and Equigas. This is a Christian organization which believes in that everybody should pay the same amount of money whether paying by direct debit, cheque, postal order, or prepayment meter.

This is their website http://www.ebico.co.uk/ . You can switch to them easily using their website. One more thing, I don't know whether they install prepayment meters themselves or you need to have it installed in your house beforehand!

Hope this will help you.

P.S. You might see they are not the cheapest for your area at the moment if you use https://www.energyhelpline.com . This is simply because of the new cut prices by certain companies at the moment and this company is likely to follow soon. They were the last to put their prices up back last year :A .

    Dear ilovegreatdanes

Try this company and see if they can save you money on your bills.

    Good luck

I've just provided a fairly lengthy response in [thread=418133]this thread[/thread] about my thoughts on prepayment meters. :)
