Amazon MBNA card ?

Options
I recently applied for the Amazon MBNA master card as i use Amazon a lot so thought i could make use of the £10 e vouchers every 1000 points.

I have just had an email back from Bank of America telling me i have been denied due to the provided information and Experian credit score along with there experience.

Now this makes no sense to me.

I currently have a BOS credit card which i have been paying back for over 6+ years from when i was in college and in fact i will be giving them there very last payment next month . YAY .

I have a capital one credit card and i have never missed or been late with a payment , i always pay 1 - 2 weeks early and i have in fact paid them 3 weeks early on occasion. and i have made the minimum payment plus smaller payments every week a few times as well . and i have logged into my account and seen Capital One have actually paid money back onto my account , to the total amount of £15 or £20 . over several smaller amounts.
I have a DD set up with O2 for my contract and this has always gone through every month.
As well as the above i also have an account with a catalogue ( clothes as i am a tall sod ) and use a personal account with them and never missed a payment.

Last year i tried applying for a 2nd Capital One card and they called me and said they had denied my claim for the card , only for the reason, the monthly payments are more expensive than the card i have with them just now.

should i worry or just not care.
As reading the Amazon forum about the MBNA card it would appear several people have had nothing but hassle with them , and making payments , web site being down , there card limits being slashed with no warning and then being in trouble for having spent more than the limit etc etc. so maybe it is a blessing lol.

  • Several factors here that you don't mention.

Is the BoS card payments from a previous default?

Your salary, are you maxed out or up to your limits on your other accounts, have you checked what Experian have on you etc...
  • i am not maxed out or up to my limit on my capital one.
My Bos cc when i was in college was for £750 max.
due to buying art materials every day and travel expenses to college ( did not waste any of it on drink ) this was soon maxed and i have been paying every month for years .... they will have had over £2000 from me by the time i finally get rid of them. if not nearer £3000.

salary is none as i am now a carer for my parents under advice given to us by those in the know.

and i have been told not to waste my time with Experian as the free version you get is absolutely nothing to what companies see about you , until your free 30 days is over and you start paying there monthly fee by DD then you get what companies get about you.

So you have spent in excess of 6 years paying a £750 debt?

Sound advice  so you have no job on strength of advice to "look after parents" rather than get a job.

It does not matter whether you get free, basic or buy monthly report, you still won't see anything telling you why you were rejected, that is up to MBNA, but based on your current situation would you lend yourself money.

Experian will show every credit account you have had for the past 6 years and every company will be able to see this payment history for these credit accounts so you have been misinformed by 'those in the know'

I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but having no job or salary is the reason they red carded you. Least it should make sense now seeing as it didn't before.

    Next.

A rather important piece of information you left out in your first post. If it looks like you have no income why would anyone lend you money? (The reason you don't work for a salary is not relevant to a lender.)

You have been told wrong. The info I saw during the first free period was no different to the info I saw after I'd paid the first month's fee (because I forgot to cancel - not because of some conspiracy by Experian to make it impossible to cancel).
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Zero income, expect every lender to refuse to lend.
