Ok thanks. I fixed with Scottish Power until 2014 in the end, savings not as heavy now, although I'll still be saving, but thinking more long term!
Oh no I wish you had said earlier you were thinking of Scottish Power as I think you can get cashback from Quidco/TCB.

Sorry to jump in on someone else's thread, but I'm in a slightly similar situation, only my Eon deal ends on 5/10/12.

If I start the switch now, will I need to do the tariff juggle with Eon, or will the fact that the end date is 15 days away mean I'll be safe from exit fees without the juggle?

I would imagine you would be safe - EDF give 12 days cooling off then the switch is approx 3 weeks after that.

Not a problem, after careful consideration I went with the free case of wine with uSwitch :p
    Thanks for all your help!

    Hi manic

    You'll be fine.

Providing the contract ends before the switch completes, you'll not be liable for the cancellation fee.

It usually takes between 4-6 weeks for switches to go through. As you've only about 2 weeks left on your current deal, it'll have finished before the switch completes.

Unless you tell us otherwise, at the end of your deal, you'll automatically go on to a standard, non-contracted tariff for the remainder of your time with us. These don't have cancellation fees leaving you free to switch without penalty.

Hope this is of interest manic.
