Whole end of terrace house but only share of freehold?

    Sorry I should have worded that better, I meant in the case of vertical separation I thought you would be sole freeholder. With no one else to answer to but yourself.

    Perhaps it is a flying freehold. Where by part of your property and part of your neighbours property overlap.

    For example my old house, we had 2 bedrooms at the back of the house and one at the front.
    Our next door neighbour had 2 at the front and one at the back. so we both overlapped slightly on each others downstairs rooms.
    Current Debt: 0%.
    Current House Deposit: 7%.
  • I suppose it's all just second guessing until we can get full clarification from the EA & vendor.

    Thanks for everyones input though, hopefully if we like the house it ends up being a simple situation!
  • It's a standard 2-up 2down (with a small side extension as its end of terrace) which has been divided into 2 vertically - hence only 1 bedroom, and hence garden is at the side. The other slice of the house has the garden at the back.

    Quarter of a million quid for half a house!
  • As Fire Fox said, that type of house isn't one room deep.
    And look at the floor plan, there's no windows at the back - because there's another room there but it's part of another appartment.

    From these ariel photos you can see there isn't garden at the back of the property.

    On the floorplan, apart from the wall to the right of the staircase all others are external walls with no other flats/houses attached to them.

    As for price, well that's just what you pay in London to be in a nice area with decent transport I guess!
  • It's true that second photo seems to show a blank external wall with no windows (why?) and that house being much narrower because of the sloping plot.
    So, yes, maybe only one room deep and I take back my idea.
    Still a mystery about the share of freehold then...
