old oil AGA

hi there, , i got a great bargain of an old oil fired aga 1960s/70s one and it is dismantled for me, just need it put back together! also if anyone has an old oil aga id love to hear how you get on with it? are they as good as they sound?

Should have gone for a wood version ! oil agas although are well built often have many problems and can be expensive to repair, a few of my customers love em....many hate them !You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

They use around 40 litres of oil a week for a two oven with no water heating. 60 litres if you have water heating.

No. They are best used as cookers. You need to buy into the whole AGA lifestyle thing though. That way you can justify the cost of running it. They are not cheap ways to cook but if you look at it as new hobby, it starts to make a lot more sense.0
