Hi, I'm in my thirties and since school I have always struggled with reading and numbers. I am educated and work full time but I really have to try hard when reading, etc. I have been putting off getting tested for suspected Dyslexia for years but I now feel that I really should do it to know once and for all. It would not be possible to obtain NHS funding for dyslexia assessment because there are no professionals in the NHS to conduct assessments.

For school age children these might be carried out by an EP if there is a strong enough case however the Educational Psychologist would be employed by the LA.

Dyslexia is not on its own a health condition.
