How to stop wind and cold from going underneath static caravan

Any ideas how I can warm up my static day living caravan from the bottom up. Even the carpets are cold because the floor underneath is freezing. It is exposed to the elements and gets very chilly.
Was thinking about putting straw bales around the underneath as insulation but wondered if there was a better less messy thing I could use.

My initial thought is to consider installing a skirt around the bottom edge as this would work like a wind break.YNWA

What you musn't do is stop ventilation under the van otherwise you could start a process of damp and rotting eventually. A skirt of some sort will help stop drafts but not cold air underneath
Whilst putting insulation underneath will help, statics (especially older ones) have poorly insulated walls and roof (and windows for that) so whatever you do it will still be like trying to heat your garden shed to a degree0 -
And if you use gas in the caravan, do not block up the "Drop out" holes in the floor.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

What about a solid fence structure about a foot or so away from the caravan walls and a foot or so above the floor height simply to act as a windbreak?0

My mum has a static caravan and I know a lot of the people on the site there have put double thick bubble foil on the underneath of the floor (attached to the floor using a staple gun). This would not stop the wind but it would help the floor to be warmer. You would also need to make sure you did not cover any air vents etc0

IF you live full time in the van, you can get a grant (was 100%) for full insulation including exterior walls, underfloor and ceiling. Look up Park-home Insulation grants. I amnot sure if a caravan can be granted as a parkhome though.... worth a try, I did 2 years doing PH's in Devon, but the site owners didn't like it without a big back hander as they lost Calor Gas sales and new van sales cos the homes looked like new once we had finished.0

Thankyou all.
Will look into the suggestions as its getting colder and report back.:beer:0 -
you could put some polystyrene insulation underneath , these come in approx 3" thick sheets , easy to cut , should be easy to stick to underneath of floor0

if its on a caravan park you need to check if you need permission to errect anything around the static
i know billing aquadrome are very funny when it comes to what you can and cant do- unless you pay through the nose for them to fit/errrect things0
