Poundshop disposable BBQ's

Just got back from my holiday where we took 3 disposable BBQ's, bought from poundshop on a recommendation from this very website.
I'd seen them a couple of times but was a little concerned because they looked a little small & I was worried that perhaps a quid was just a little bit too cheap.
I was indeed still in two minds because Wilko had theirs on a half price offer at £1.24.
But no, I thought, Martin the Millionaire & all his hordes of followers must be right...
Not fit for purpose barely covers my experience with these things.
'Leave to warm up for 20 minutes' it said on the packet, then, 'shake to evenly distribute the charcoal'
When you shake them, they collapse like shaking a tin foil pouch & after 25 minutes they've all but gone out. I've been camping with disposable BBQ's for more than a decade so its not like I've never used one before.
This is my main gripe with this site, a 'recommendation' should be at least based on some tiny bit of experience of the product & not based solely on the fact that it is simply the cheapest.
I've effectively wasted three quid through following 'money saving' tips.
Thanks for reading & I know you think it's my first post, but I've been subscribing to the e-mail for some years, but couldn't remember my password to get back onto this forum.

We got some of these over the Summer - rubbish. I'd rather pay a bit more and get them from Asda (theirs are really good)0

As this isn't Old style related, ive moved this to the Praise, vent and warnings board
Zip
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy pleaseA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
