Excess postage

Ok, so basically, I ordered something from a different country, and have recieved a fee to pay thing from the Royal Mail saying there is a custom charge.

I was just wondering, am I responsible for this or should the seller (a business) be responsible for this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Go back to the item page.

    Under postage
International items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges.

    Click the ? button.

    It should say
As the buyer, you should be aware of possible:
    - delays from customs inspection.
    - import duties and taxes which buyers must pay.
    - brokerage fees payable at the point of delivery

    Example
    See this ...........item

    .
  • Royal Mail normally add on an £8 admin fee which will be included in the charge.
  • I got caught a few years ago when a I bought a collectable item from the US. Instead of putting the price I actualy paid on ebay the seller put what they obviously assumed to be the current market value, and I got stung with a customs charge.
