Hi
Does anybody own or know of a largeish car estate/4wd with an electronic opening boot/tailgate ?
I used to own a lexus and the boot went up and down at the press of a button.
Its a great feature if you can't reach up fully anymore..........

You'd perhaps be best asking Motability if they do any with that feature - or if it can be added like other extra adaptations? Motability only offer certain vehicles... so even if someone knew 'model x' it may not be available on the scheme.
A Google of "electric tailgate cars uk" found me: Ford Kuga & C-Max, Audi S4 Avant, and a lot of other links but I haven't followed them up to see if they're accurate.0 -
I have a ford grand cmax and when looking at the brochure for it an optional extra is an automatic tailgate door.I didnt need one myself but they look handy for anyone unable to open it up themselves as it seems you push a button and it opens up to whatever height you want then closes again with another push of a button.0

I have just ordered a new Ford Grand C-Max on the Motability Scheme last week and specced the 'Family Pack' optional extra which includes the powered tailgate. I had a demo of the powered tailgate and it is really good.
As I need an automatic I went for the Grand C-Max 2.0 Diesel Zetec Powershift auto. It has an advanced payment of £728 but as I get the 'automatic' grant it reduced the AP down to just £68 advance payment. The Zetec Family pack which includes the powered tailgate was an extra £425. I am getting a powered hoist for my powerchair plus a couple of other disability aids installed as well.
It is a really well kitted out car and being a 7 seater (albeit the rear row folds down to give a bigger boot) it has lots of room inside and not too badly priced for the type of vehicle.
