Car Insurance

Well its that time of year when car insurance is due. Being driving for just over a yr now. Currently with Tesco but their new quote is high, research so far is pointing me towards People's Choice who I have never heard of. Anyone got feedback on them?
I have used the normal search engines for my research so far, is this the best way?
Thanks in advance

People's Choice is a trading name for Hastings - if you google them/ search on here you will find a fair amount of feedback on them.
If by "search engines" you mean aggregators (eg confused.com) then the next step is to check the players that dont go on the aggregators like DirectLine or Aviva0 -
Before you change insurance companies, see if Tesco will price match the quote you have received. When you say you have been driving a year, does that mean you are a young driver, I have been trying to renew my sons policy, and the Admiral group are very reasonable for young drivers. Our renewal came in at 1314 did a comparison and came up with a price of 892, I rang original company and they price matched it.0

Spoke with Tesco and they wont price match apparently they always issue the best quote they can and thats that.
No I'm 30 but only got round to doing my test last year.
I paid 1200 approx last year (annual one off payment) and looking to do same thing this year. At moment look like approx £750.0 -
Not liking the review on Hastings mmmmm0

Do a search on them here too and see the problems reported (if you still think they might be for you!)0

I've price matched with Aplan for several years however I got to the point of thinking why should I be doing their work for them every year so I've just gone with the cheapest quote for the best policy ever since.
I agree some insurers can be awful and if I had very good service with one I would be less likely to change by the only claim I've made was via the AA, who were awful and very unhelpful through out so I do continue to avoid them.0
