Vet Bill and other costs.

  • Will do. She just phoned me, being a little arsey to be honest asking for 120.00 quid. The vets actually got in touch and basically said that we do not have to pay, they found it strange that she took him there.

They stated if she didn't return him to inform the police and the vets would give the police the address and they would get him.

Just phoned me she is bringing him back at 4.:j

Fab news. Was it the vets who administered the flea/worming treatment or had they just checked over the dog and she went out and bought it from a petshop?

I think I would reimburse the lady for her petrol costs (Google maps should tell you the distance and even calculates an estimate of petrol costs if you know roughly where she lives) because she doesn't have to drop the dog off and it's nice of her to do that, but would definately tell her to go fish for all the other costs!

In one way, I'd be grateful to the lady for taking your dog in and so avoiding the chance of him being killed on the roads.

But she's just trying it on asking for £120! And she has no right whatsoever to refuse to return your dog. I'd be furious.

If you get any hassle from her when she brings your dog home at 4pm, just call the cops.
  • Was your dog wearing a collar with identification, or microchipped? As she could have just contacted you before taking to the vet, or asked the vet to check for a chip and contact you... Sounds like weird behaviour to me! Have you got him back yet?

    Is he home yet adewolves?
  • He has a collar but didn't have ID on him...silly I know but he's never ran off before. Just had a phone call off some official who told me the woman is now reluctant to give him back. She now as to phone the guy back to tell him what I've said (her husband is dealing with it now) and then she'll ring me back. God knows what they are playing at. She shouldn't have been stupid enough to take him to the vets, who the hell would do that as soon as they found a dog.

I put it on the internet on our local facebook page and within 10 minutes of a picture being put up in a local shoip someone recognised it and mentioned they saw it being put in a car.
  • He's back yeeessssssssss. Thanks for all your advice, I doubt he'd be here now if it wasn't for all your help.:T
  • :j:j So pleased to hear he's home ..... wonder on earth what she was playing at!

Please get him an ID tag - it is actually law for a dog to have one of these if in a public place (http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/379) - and also microchipped (not sure if he is done of not?)
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!
