Bankruptcy and horses

  • And you can't say they are your Grans as you bought them with your money, she didn't buy them so doesn't own them.

I seem to remember an OR having an issue with a posters horse in the last year but can't find the posts at the moment. Though as you have said you don't pay for the upkeep then you shouldn't have too many problems but be aware that some ORs may want to sell them for the money. You are just going to have to suck it and see though you do have a case for keeping them. Just explain in words of one syllable as APs post their condition, age etc. don't forget that horses probably don't come across an ORs desk, so to speak, very often.

I would disagree with this quote. Just because you paid for something, it doesn't necessarily follow that you own it. For example, I bought my wife a car from new, I paid for it, but it was a present to her. It was registered in her name, insured for her and I didnt use it as I had my own. The OR initially took interest in this, but I argued my point and eventually he dropped the issue. Like wise if I bought my kids ponies for birthday presents, they aren't mine, they belong to the kids.
