Quit job due to being underpaid, claim JSA?

Have you actually made a claim to JSA and had the claim disallowed by a decision maker? Its not clear from your post. Have you actually given all the facts in writing to the Jobcentre?
If not then you need to make a claim immediately, as has been said 26 weeks is the maximum (calculated from the date you left your job if disallowed) until you claim you won't know what decision they will make and you may be entitled to hardship payments.
If you've made a claim and its been disallowed then the only thing you can do is appeal if you think the decision is wrong."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
You can still take action to get the money you are due. Write to the ex employer (recorded delivery and keep a copy) asking for the owed money (list how much and for what dates) within 14 days. Say that otherwise you will file a claim to the employment tribunal for unlawful deduction of wages.
But do it quickly as there is a time limit on action.0 -

He's already said he's been paid now.
I don't at all understand quitting work due to (temporary) underpayment.Especially when the plan was to apply for JSA!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
If quite a few people in the company weren't getting paid any/or full wages, and the op continued to work for them, you'd slate them for that. A company not managing to pay its staff is in serious cashflow problems, surely?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Lisa,
Have you put in a claim for your underpaid wages with the Employment Tribunal? Please do consider it. The amount between what you were paid and minimum wage is worth persuing....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
