Insurance quote, NCB and accident

Hi

I'm currently with Privilege, and got a renewal quote. I used a comparison site and got a quote for £150 cheaper.
The question is, do I need to tell the new insurance company about a minor accident I had 4 months ago, as I have no claim discount protection.
If I were to ask Privilege for certification of no claims history, would they say that I did put in a claim 4 months ago, or would they uphold that I'd not put in a claim due to the no claims protection I pay?

I'm not trying to hide anything, but would like to know what I should put into the comparison websites. Should I state the accident or not.

Thanks

  • NCD and claims history are two different things and NCD Protection only protects the NCD not the claims history.

You must declare the minor accident but still state that you have X years NCD

    Ncd protection is irrelevant.

If you had an accident and/or made a claim, you need to disclose it.

If you dont want them to cancel your policy for potential fraud or at least non disclosure then you may want to tell them. You may need to declare having a policy cancelled forever. Not just 5 years like a claim.

If they put it down as deliberate fraud wait until you see the quotes having declared that. And it will be on the database so they can easily check.

Not only claims but INCIDENTS also even if no claim has been made.

About to upgrade my car a bit more and phoned the insursance 1st to make sure they would still cover me. And find out how much.
