The beginning of this month i noticed my online Halifax account had one extra direct debit going out, (first time it has appeared as im always checking) anyway it took £5.00 out on 5th September and i thought that maybe it was something to do with some kind of Fee's ie, ebay etc, anyway i left it at that, but they have just taken another £10 today. I really can't recall why it is doing this but it is down on my direct debit list as "PAYPAL PAYMENT - HALF YEARLY" any advice on how i can trace this and should i immediately cancel the direct debit? also will i be entitled to my £15 back if i am being scammed?
Cheers for any advice

If you claim, you will have the debits refunded.
Be aware that if you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the originator asks you to.
You can cancel a Direct Debit Instruction at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society.
Why don't you check your paypal account and see if that spreads any more light on what the transaction is for. I would suggest it's a half yearly subscription that has been agreed to be funded from your paypal account.
If you didn't authorise that, I would suggest you alert Paypal.0 -
You are fully covered by the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Many thanks for that helpful replyi have checked on my paypal account and the transactions are not showing on it at all, should i just cancel the direct debit via my online halifax account and visit my local Halifax tomorrow to sort it out or should i keep the direct debit there so that the Halifax assistant can see it tomorrow?
Thanks again.
