Changes in Council Tax Benefit.

Anyone that lives in my area .... Knowsley, and in receipt of Council Tax Benefit may be interested in a series of drop-in days that are being done to explain how the changes may effect you.


MESSAGE FROM KNOWSLEY COUNCIL
Knowsley Council is holding a series of drop-in sessions as part of our consultation on a proposed new local Council Tax scheme.
The Government is scrapping Council Tax Benefit from April next year and asking local councils to develop new schemes with less funding.
Visit www.knowsley.gov.uk to complete our survey.
You can visit our drop-in sessions without an appointment at the following times:
  • Tuesday 25 September, 11am-2pm at Prescot One Stop Shop
  • Wednesday 26 September, 11am-2pm at Kirkby One Stop Shop
  • Thursday 27 September, 11am-2pm at Huyton One Stop Shop
  • Friday 28 September, 11am-2pm at Halewood One Stop Shop

    "Scrapping Council Tax benefit" is very alarmist wording.

    I realise Knowsley Council will have to adminster it and that a cut of 10% is being made, however.
    Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.
  • as oaps are gauranteed to get what they get now,as are the vunerable(although no one has defined what that means yet),people who live in areas with alot of retired people may suffer worse than other areas
  • That would be anywhere on the coast as that is where most oap's end up.
