Extend Bathroom or Storage Space?

Hi all

I'm refurbishing a property I have recently bought. The bathroom is very small, it has a bath tub in it but it goes from wall to wall leaving the bathroom feeling very cramped.

Its a conversion flat so the bathroom is made on false walls. I have the option of knocking down the front wall and extending the bathroom into a space which is currently a storage cupboard. This would add about 1 metre of space to the bathroom.

My question is would a bigger bathroom add value to the property or should I leave it small and keep the storage space?

Thanks

  • Depends. Most bathrooms now only seem to be the length of a bath, anyway. Is there a good quality shower?

If not, that's something that's pretty essential to a lot of people and would be worth putting in.

    overbath shower?

is it the upstairs flat and so could you pinch back some storage space in the loft?

I'd rather have the storage, particularly if it's a small flat. If it's a bit place with already ample storage then go for the bathroom.

However, it'll just depend on the buyer, but if you're planning on living there for a while why not do whatever you'd prefer?
