Set up Moneysaving fund for Alex Connerty
I was so moved this evening by a feature on the local news regarding the plight of young Alex Connerty. See http://www.walkingwithgiants.co.uk/index.html?_ret_=return
You cannot fail to be touched!
This kid’s family need to raise money to send him to the USA to meet kids with the same type of problems he has. Let’s get him over there, in the words of Bob Geldof 'get donating NOW!
I would like to set up a special fund through Moneysavers (Any help appreciated) to raise some Money. I will start the ball rolling by pledging £10.00
We have all said at one time or another 'that they can send millions abroad at the drop of a hat' or the money Footballers earn, or pop stars...
Well lets get into there ribs because if anybody deserves help, this kid does.
Looking forward to some feedback!

Wow is me'
What was I thinking about asking for 'charity to a wonderful cause' on a 'MoneySavers site where most people are looking to save money, not give it away! even if it is for a poor kid that is struck down with a terrible affliction, why the hell should you care. The fact is, if you can save 10p then its a result, happy days!
Before anyone replies (if anyone) with 'We can't give to every cause, go to this site http://www.walkingwithgiants.co.uk/index.html?_ret_=return and make your own judgment... and remember if you do save 10p, rather than show glee, show some sympathy and send it to Alex.

Bern 494 I think it is a wonderful site and will pledge accordingly. However, maybe it would be better if any Money savers (in the local area) who didn't want certain freebies etc. that they had received had a drop off point where the family or friends of Alex could make better use of them.
Alex may be small but in his life he will probably achieve a greatness very few of us will ever attain.!0 -
Eloquently said' and what a great idea, so all you moneysavers in Alex's area get to it. Its a brilliant cause but don't forget still go to the site and pledge a few bob. http://www.walkingwithgiants.co.uk/i...l?_ret_=return
I have nothing to do with Alex or the website, not really renown for championing good causes but this just touched my heart.
many thanks
