Having already been on TV last year in a programme called .... Build, Buy or Restore, where they tried to find my Husband and I a property to buy, we would now like to have a go at a garden makover show that seem to appear quite frequently on our screens.
We didn't eventually buy any of the 3 properties that the Build, Buy or Restore team found for us, but have found a lovely house that has been a huge project from day one. Lots of decorating, renovating etc...so no time, energy or money left for the garden.
Does anyone know which websites I would look on, to find out the programmes that are looking for willing participants?

Hi there,
Try the BBCI website, then type in the search bit 'be on a show'. This will then take you to a list of various shows that they are looking for contestants for.
I haven't seen any garden makeover shows asking for contestants for a while as they aren't as popular as they used to be.
If you've got a favourite garden show then you could try and contact the makers of the show direct.
Check what type of contract you signed when you appeared in BUILD, BUY OR RESTORE. We once appeared in a BBC1 show and had to sign an agreement to say we wouldn't appear in any similar show for 2 years.
Good luck searching

I'll move your thread to the 'Greenfingered' board, where the gardening experts will see it.

Just bumping this thread as I found it on google search while searching for tv garden make-over shows. Does anyone know whether there are plans to do any more of these shows and, if so, who I should contact to apply please?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

To be blunt, with the economy and the housing market being as it is, I think you're unlikely to find TV companies making new warm and cuddly garden makeover shows in the near future. The closest you'll possibly get is a series on how to rip up Alan Titwalsh's decking & gravel so that an average family of four can practice a bit of subsistence agriculture on a 20' x 10' plot.
I've just realised that this is the first bit of positive news I've found in the credit crunch! Swiss chard sandwich, anyone?0 -

I wonder why people have to be so rude and scathing about other people's namesit's not even funny.

I don't think he was being rude about anyone's name maypole, I think it was just an amalgamation of 'alan titchmarsh' and 'tommy walsh'...or am I missing something?0

No, you are spot on. I wasn't making any personal attack on the two gentlemen concerned, who were (are) both excellent presenters, though I don't share their enthusiasm for the kind of rushed makeovers they became famous for.0 -
I am searching the web for any current or new projects out there in the Garden Makeover area. We have just finished a garden fencing and security and now need some good tips/help with a brand new garden. Why because all we have is mud and building materials. It is a space of 65 feet in length x 45 feet wide. We are total garden virgins and need lots of help and advice. So a tv prog would be most welcome/helpful"onwards & upwards"0
