Car insurance query! - Added temp driver

Hi
I recently added my friend as a temp driver on my car insurance for a week. Unfortunatley the funds were not available in my bank to pay for this cover. Now the insurance company are chasing the arrears.
They are saying this could affect my current car insurance, even though i paid for my car insurance in december and this covered me for the year.
The argument i have is, as i was in arrears they wouldnt of paid out a claim so the temp cover wouldnt apply. Do you think i should have to pay the arrears even though the insurance company wouldnt of paid out any claim.
Be great if someone could reply with their thoughts.

If they did actually insure your friend then they would have paid any claims, so you've had the agreed cover and need to pay the agreed price0

If you dont pay they could cancel your current policy which you will need to declare forever.
And possibly they may be able to withold your no claims.
Getting cover in future will cost more than settling this debt.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
You are not buying temporary insurance but adjusting your annual policy and as such if payment is not made then it is your annual policy that is impacted.
Plus they would have to payout for a claim by the an innocent party even if you hadnt paid for the mid term adjustment0
