  • Well done on the wine avoidance. I keep thinking how much Id save if we stopped those odd glasses of wine (still have free stuff left in fridge which is definitely posher than our normal fare!)
Think your doing pretty well regardless of failed ebay pledge, with your low spends and fridge sorting. Its took me weeks to galvanise the energy to do ours, still got tons to do. Going to see how this lot goes first. Don't think I'll give up the day job thou!

Aiming for a another day of conscious spending - ideally I would have liked to aim for a day of no spending, however a wee trip to supermarket is required - uuurrgghhhhh.
Will be in and out, with no stopping at magazines ('housie' magazines are my BIG weakness), and a very small list, and most definitely NOT a trolley as trolley's are magnets for daft treats and nonsense.

It's very dark outside this morning (in Scotland), however I'm going to work nice and early as busy, busy day. Best get a move on as I still have to take pooch out before I leave.

To anyone reading, enjoy your day.

    Noooooo........I typed up a big post and lost it all. It went something like this though;

Confession Time: This weekend I pledged to eBay and did not keep up my promise, although I did read lots of hints and tips - does that count? Probably not, however on the plus my total spends have been at an all time low for Saturday and Sunday, and I russled up a meal from the fridge rather than venturing out to dreaded supermarket. I will Ebay, I will, I will, I will.

PS. Little-Boy-Racer-Car isn't so bad, and he even tells me when it's time to change gear. Bless:cool:

Thank you for dropping by and reading, please do come back!

    NP:D

I hate it when that happens to me, I then don't type what I originally intended and it bugs me no end.

You are forgiven about the Ebay thing, I promise myself I will do a task and then don't do it, don't feel too bad. At least you researched it

Good news about the boy racer car - how lovely to be reminded that the car is struggling and would you please change up ha ha

I'm not going anywhere so keep on chatting.

It's soooo dark and rainy and windy outside:( I am sitting with my heating on AND cuddling a HWB!

Nothing much to report on the money news front, I took fruit to work = good, then a colleague went to Mc-dees and I asked her to bring me back fries = bad.

I did go to evil supermarket though and managed to avoid the magazine and wine aisles so conscious part of my brain kicked in = hurrah!

Do any of you remember the Numskulls (Beezer I think...), anyway, that's exactly how my brain operates, lots of wee guys in different departments shouting 'emergency! emergency!' she's wandering down the Christmas aisle 'take evasive action!!!' and then I remember that it is indeed only September, and that TOBLERONES / MINT MATCHMAKERS and CHOCOLATE COINS do not come under the heading of a meal-plan:p

Back to Glasgow tomorrow, except train-ing it rather than car-ing, unfortunately this means up extra, extra, extra, early. I have printed of work documents to read on the train and I will NOT purchase a magazine - DO YOU HEAR ME NUMSKULLS;)

The pooch is giving me 'walkie-eyes' so am going to big up the benefits of sniffing around the garden this evening so I don't have to go out in the rain - how cruel am I?

Hi. I have just found your diary and am off to subscribe:) My diary is similar to yours, it's about the small stuff all adding up i think, i have done my ebay listing this weekend, only 8 items but if they all sell it's £50, so i figure if i can do this every free listing weekend, and 99p stuff in between it can maybe add up to a few hundred over the year. I would recommend if you've not listed before, hunt out 5 items you want to sell, watch other peoples items now who are selling the same to give you an idea of postage and what to start the bidding at. Take your photos one night and upload them to the compter, save them in a file marked 'ebay photos', then start a word document the next night and write a short description of the items, then the next free listing weekend all you have to do is write your title, upload your photo and copy and paste your description:) Much less daunting than having to do it all in one go.

    Good luck:) x

Thank you for posting ecoelle, and for the great ebay tips!

Work is so busy just now (I was at a late event yesterday evening, and have another busy day ahead - roll on the October Holidays!)

On the plus side, my spending has been fairly minimal and I am confidently on track to leave my salary untouched until the 1st October, although with the exception of D/D's and S/O's coming out of the account, I will see how long I can make my current purse money s-t-r-e-t-c-h beyond this date so I do not unnecessarily withdraw cash, or use my Debit Card (I have removed this card from my purse).

I am so desperate to read others' diaries for inspiration, and will definitely catch up with yours ecoelle:)

Wine-wise, I did purchase a very small bottle (like you size you receive on planes), which was reduced from £2.50 (what???????!!!!) to £1.50 (slightly more palatable), however I had a very small glass last night and I really didn't enjoy it at all, so maybe it won't be quite so difficult avoiding wine purchase over the weekend;)

Magazine-wine, other than a paper on Saturday, and one on Sunday, I have avoided buying any magazines or newspapers (I usually buy an evening local rag), which although is only 45p weekly, this would have amounted to £2.25, so that's another mortgage O/P!
For magazines, they tend to be more monthly so I will see how I fare over October.

Looking forward to the weekend, and thanks again for dropping by.
