Thank you Voucherman - coming to my rescue once again!
Tilly - I have started spending diaries previously and have always given up after a couple of daysNow I just keep all my receipts for end of month toting up, then feel physically sick at how much I've spent on pure unadulterated crap...I need to retrain my brain.
Edinburgher - thanks for the great tip on selling better items first on Ebay.
If I do manage to sell, can I just let my Pay-Pal account build up until Christmas, then whatever is left over use this amount as mortgage O/P?
I have a day off work today as gas-guzzler car (currently on lease) is being handed back and more economical car (moving to purchase) is being collected - not until 4pm though so with any luck I will manage to ignore the messy house and spend as much time as possible reading other's diaries.
I will miss my big gas-guzzler as I felt lovely and safe due to its height. The wee economical car makes so much more sense, however my hearts not buzzing about it....maybe once I notice the difference in petrol my heart will start singing again though;)
Speaking of petrol - as the gas-guzzler is being handed back to the lease company I have let the petrol almost run out i.e. driving on fumes. Is this wrong off me to do so?
Will do another reckie of finances today and report in later.
PS. Sorry to keep on asking so many questions on my posts!

Congrats on switching cars, that's a big decision and I know what you mean about your heart not being in it. I'm in agreement that you should hand it back totally empty btw.
It's OK to have a treat, you could have done worse than a couple of choc bars.... to be fair, we need to have little treats along the way, otherwise it will be a very boring journey and we need to have fun along the way.
I'm sure that the matchsticks will come in handy if you are reading my diary - you'll need them to keep your eyes open!0 -
Thank you Lulabelle
The gas-guzzler-collector-man is 'appraising' my car just now. I wonder how much he will notice my attempts at covering up 3 years worth of dents and scratches!
I tried to sweeten him up by offering a coffee, however he was having none of it - it's times like these I could do with looking like a extra from Baywatch;)
After gas-guzzler-collector-man drives the gas-guzzler away, I will make myself a coffee and read through your diary.

You can, but it might be worth switching any earnings into a savings account once a fortnight or so for the few pennies of interest you'll earn0 -
Unfortunately, although not altogether unsurprisingly, I didn't get away with my attempts to cover up / colour in;) the 3 years worth of dents and scratches. The damage description reads like a home report, so I fear my salary will be be somewhat reduced due to lease deductions.
I have to say, that I do agree with the seat soiling part as despite my many deep cleaning attempts, there is only so much you can do with dog-puke:p (often my boot was packed with various work bits 'n' bobs so dog would be placed in car and although a contented passenger, at times she would happily spew - says a lot about my driving!!!!)
Ah well, just waiting on coffee being ready and away to read through diaries.
Thank you Lulabelle and Edinburgher.

Just paid for economical-car Insurance out of savings so feeling a bit deflated to see the figure dwindle........still that's the whole purpose of 'popping my E-bay cherry' as it were:p
I should really get into the garage this evening, however I need something to look forward to tomorrow - yup it's a real rock 'n' roll weekend for me!
The wee economical car looks so....tiny I haven't even driven it since late this afternoon - mainly because my son told me it looks like a boy racer car. Great.
Still on the plus side, I have enough hard cash in my purse to see me through to pay-day, and I will remove my bank card, so when I do the dreaded supermarket shop I won't be able to sneak in too much non-essential rubbish.
I have less than half a glass of wine left in the house and am now torn between going out in the boy-racer-car or having to go wine-less on a FRIDAY night (by 10pm I will either feel virtuous or wishing I had given into temptation)
Decisions, decisions

Hi just catching up on diaries, I am sure once you have got used to the feel of the boy racer car and see the reduction in petrol costs, you will love it.
Get the wine you deserve it, it is Friday after all.Been here for a long time and don't often post

Which did car did you buy?0 -
Well no wine for me
I have just made myself a cup of tea, deciding to go down the vitreous road.
Perhaps having the boy-racer-car will indeed prove money saving in terms of sitting in my drive therefore zero fuel consumption, and stopping me from nipping out to supermarket incurring unnecessary spends. At this rate I will pay off my mortgage in no time;)
As I appear to have slagged boy-racer-car I don't think I should say in case I offend anyone's pride and joy Lulabelle (I am on December 22nd top of page 5, off your diary by the way, and it's making me feel like it should be Christmas NOW! I had to stop reading as my friend turned up earlier, however am looking forward to continuing)
Heffi1 - I'll check your diary also for any updates
Tomorrow I will take wee-boy-racer out for a whirl and I am certain that I will grow to love him. After all, they say that size isn't everything:p
