 indeed....you don't do things by halves do you lady? :cool:0

Wow!
I very, VERY, rarely post but wanted you to know that your diary was one I always looked out for when I first started lurking on this board.
Glad to see you back - you always make me smile. Good luck with your rejuvenated journey0 -
Natty's back!! :jMortgage Jan 13 99260.00 87253 April 2017

Woohoo! You're back! :j:j:j
When you gave up posting, I set a subscription thingy on your thread so it would email me if you started posting again, and today it just has.
I haven't been on MFW for ages, or even MSE at all for quite a while, but it's lovely that you're back here. Do tell us what's been going on in your life since you last posted.
I am MF now!! As mentioned at the top of this page, the people who were supposed to be paying me compensation finally coughed up, a mere month or so after the deadline, and I cleared the mortgage. I got the aforementioned bed, phone and gardener (separately, not in combination ), but haven't redecorated or got the fluffy rug yet. DD and I did go round some shops a few weeks ago looking for one, but the only one we felt was fluffy enough didn't come in the colour that I want. (We lay on the floor on the rugs in the shops to see how soft they were for lying on - who cares if the sales assistants thought we were loopy!) Must try again soon.nattypants wrote: »I am slinking back in and incredibly embarrassed to: a). not been keeping in touch - HDK I cannot even begin to apologise enough!:( and b). being a terrible MFW - I mean, I thought I was bad BEFORE, but this really takes the biscuit::o
Oi! None of that language, please.
You are not allowed to describe yourself as a terrible MFW. You have a mortgage, yes? You want to be free of it, yes? Therefore you are a mortgage free wannabe. No "terrible" about it. Biscuits, OTOH, are always welcome.nattypants wrote: »For many reasons that I cannot go into, I had to leave this lovely board, however I am tenderly getting back on track and after gulping down a glass of wine I felt enough courage to post and I hope, keep a commitment to posting as I really do want (NEED!) to get rid of the mortgage and at the same time appreciate life.
I once heard a sermon in which the preacher said church was a place where "everyone's welcome, nobody's perfect, and anything's possible". I think that's a good description of this board, too. Remember, posting here is fun, not an "ought to".nattypants wrote: »There are still lots of familiar faces here - thankfully - and also (THANKFULLY!) lots of usernames I don't recognise who will hopefully not see me as a ginormous MFW flup-up ...
Those of us who aren't new don't see you that way either.nattypants wrote: »...and perhaps even become new friends on my long and continuing journey of financial and home life messiness with a few bonkers moments thrown in for good measure.
Ideally with lots of bonkers moments thrown in to keep everybody entertained. :rotfl:nattypants wrote: »PS. As well as MFW, I need to be an EW (exercise wanabee) and a SECW (stop eating carp wanabee) .....
Hmm. I haven't even got close to being a SECW, and my sole EW strategy goes something like "have intention of getting dog in next few months ... will have to walk it ... that'll count, won't it?"
Good luck with all your endeavours, anyway. Have a hug.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Darpett (please keep posting!), Muser and Lydia - thank you so much for posting. It's lovely to *see* you all and I feel very honoured to receive kind welcomes:blushing:
Lydia - so pleased you're MF and have a gardener! My recent TV pleasure has been Monty D's BDSS and am currently lusting after an Italian garden as opposed to my current 'all weeds welcome' sad state of affairs.
Despite my financial hoohaa-ness, I have been saving a few pennies and have arranged for a M-F burning stove to be fitted (complete with fitted oak beam) to replace the gas guzzling living flame combo. Although it was a mild winter, I live in an old house and had the gas guzzler on far too often this year and this, as well as my discovery of Inst@gr@m (for those with accounts have you seen how many wood burning stoves feature???!!!!), fuelled (geddit) my need/want/need *okay, WANT*:p

Thank you SS - how's the new house and the studies? I'll search for your diary, when I log back on later today. I have job prep today and will have to be ultra careful I don't use this as one of my many procrastination tools .....
Today's plans:
*Read some boring literature
*Think up potential questions
*Think up show stopper work based examples (this one might take me some time!!!)
*Write at least 500 words for uni assignment
*Not procrastinate

Great minds must think alike as I also need to get back on the MF bandwagon so have to dig out my old diary (if I can find it!)
As the weather is getting warmer ... it must be almost fake pimms o clock :rotfl: (although at 10am on a sunday I'm not sure what kind of impression I will be giving about myself to suggest that!)
Good to have you back , off to make a cuppa and catch up on your news
