Natty - anything to report :j:j:j?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thank you for dropping by everyone, and very special welcomes to Karmacat:hello:
In reference to GG, I have a multitude of plans up my sleeve - all involving money, both spending (wisely) and saving (for the first time EVER). By the way I haven't won the lottery!!!
Almost two years ago, my lovely mum passed away after a long and awful illness - I still cry just thinking about itAnyway, my parents (my dad passed away 12 years previously) sold up, and purchased a house that turned out perhaps not to be the best buy and despite lots of interest when it went on the market - after my mum died - the amount of work required in terms of redesign etc. was fairly huge. After months of painful revisits to show prospective buyers around, the contracts were finally exchanged last week. The buyer did get an exceptionally good deal, and whilst not a huge amount (shared with a sibling), I have some breathing space in terms of starting with a clean fiscal sheet, and can finally spend some money on my own house - believe me, I'm not talking about nice decor here, some areas are a SHAMBLES, and the entire place really does need rewired etc.
I would also like to make sure my children have a nest egg, and once MOPs catered for, children's future catered for, and tight home improvement budget catered for, I might, might splash some cash on some chocowine, or similar.
Phew, long post. I hope you're still with me on my next phase? this is the part where I actually get to grips with my financial messiness and start to pay attention to Ed's money posts;)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

All that and only one mention of food and drink :T.
I know it's a load off your mind, but sad as it's the end of something. Your mum would be glad you're using the money to help make your life more comfortable and help your children make their way in the world. So do it with a glad heart.
And maybe you can get someone in to strip for you.

Thank you for posting Muser. I think once I've completed my 10% allowed MOP, our mortgage balances will be roughly the same amount. Care to join me in some chocowine?February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Oh natty - so sorry for your loss. You say it was "almost" 2 years ago, so I guess the anniversary is coming up soon - so hugs and best wishes for that. I agree with the others that your parents would be glad that the money from their house is giving you some financial breathing room.
Can I just add a plea, though, that when you start having serious money related stuff to post about, please don't stop posting your usual style of "tell it how it really is and make everyone laugh" posting.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
