Well I finally got a reply today from my new CEO contact. In response to providing me with a new line as compensation, she said :We would not be able to to provide you with a new line as TalkTalk no longer provide the service in your exchange.0

What's the best way to get a REAL test of our Broadband line ??
We are really fed up with that silly computerised voice which doesnt answer our problem (a totally dead broadband).
LATER....
We finally got through to a human, probably Indian, struggling to communicate.
We spent ages doing "tests" at his end and tests at my end. We are no nearer a solution.
REALLY it needs a human who can speak clearly, especially when it involves quite technical terms.
He had me opening up the master BT socket, and then wasted time trying to get me to use the "test socket", which DOESNT EXIST on our oldish master socket.
He had me trying all the things I had already tried over many days.
(Probably following a list of instructions on a website.)
Finally we achieved NOTHING, and will have to test the router at a shop.0
