child tax question

Does anyone know if you can claim child tax credits untill your child leaves school at 18? Or does it stop at 16?

as long as they are still in full time further education and you are receiving child benefit for them then you can claim tax credits up until their 20th birthday.

lol thanks, I got him when my son got a fish tank a couple of years back, I did have a picture of his fish as my avatar then someone sent me a link to my little swimming fish

That is "non advanced" education. You can't claim if they're at uni.

further education means the same thing as far as I know. Uni is known as higher education,

No wonder people get confused.
