Barclaycard transfer - "date expired" problem

I have a 0% offer on my Barclaycard at present, so I am going to transfer some balance from my partner's card to mine (yes I do know what I am doing!) as she is being charged a whopping 30%.

Ages ago her card was stopped so that it can not be used for any future purchases, so it just has a gradually reducing balance as she has been paying it off.

The online barclaycard transfer form is asking for the expiry date of the card where the balance is being transferred from, but in this case there is no expiry date as the card account is not "active".

Is there a way of getting past the expiry date requirement, or are Barclaycard refusing to balance transfer from cards that are stopped/inactive?

Comments

  • There have been a few threads about this. The concensus is that you should be able to get away with inventing a date some time in the future. At your own risk.
