Collection only items - not as described on collection

Not sure if it is me but I have won two items in the past week and have gone to collect them and they are not as described. Both were cupboards the first needed revarnishing but the seller forgot to mention the huge crack down the one side. The second the seller described in excellent condition yet when we went to collect it there was a large split in the top and screw holes down one side (unfortunately the side that would not be against our wall). On both occasions sellers agreed to mutual cancellations but will this affect my feedback in any way.

No it will not. That is the beauty of collecting, you can give the potential purchase the once over & if not as described walk away!0

Thank you I was getting a little worried that I could end up with a black mark or something.0

mutual cancellation of transaction will affect you in no way at all and seller gets their fees back. Just follow the instructions once you receive the email and agree that both you and seller are mutually agreeing to end the transaction.0

Would it definitely go through as a mutual cancellation though - is it possible that the buyer can give you bad feedback?0

it can only go through as a mutual cancellation if both parties agree. I think buyer can still leave feedback....maybe someone will correct me if i am wrong. the buyer can't leave feedback if the seller opens an item not paid for case and if buyer doesn't pay they will get a strike against their account and are unable to leave feedback0 -
As mentioned its a good way to buy, Cash on collection works for me.
As long as they dont file a non paying bidder dispute your in the clear.
But they can only file one dispute, So filing a mutual if you decline that then they cannot file for a non paying bidder later.
