Item delivered but buyer has not received it.

Hi,

I sold an item and have proof saying the item has been delivered. The buyer says they have not received the item and they did not sign for it. They have now opened a eBay Buyer Protection case stating the above. Where do I stand with this please?

thanks

  • What is your proof of the item being delivered? You need to build a good case so getting a copy of the signature upon delivery from the courier is a good start.

Enter the tracking details & as long as it provesdelivery you will win your case.

Does the signature match the name of the person it was sent to?

    Wrong answer. Sorry.
I sold something on eBay, and my special delivery signature was not satisfactory for them. I lost (aparrently) and PayPal took £750 from my empty PayPal account.
    Never paid them, though.

hi, the tracking does not show a signature but says the name of the person who signed for it and that is not my buyers name.

    thanks

Its been enough for me with any problems of INR in the past. There is always exceptions to any rule.

Does the buyer know who this person is? This is where it can get tricky. Maybe it was delivered to a neighbours house?

    This seems odd......

If it was possible to sign for an SD package with a different name and than claim you didn't receive it, surely the scammers would be having a field-day with this loop hole?

I think there must have been more to Naf's problem than stated as if item is signed for at the recipient address the seller will win the case. That assumes all other seller protection criteria have been followed, for instance posting a tangible item to the correct address within 7 days etc.

They claimed I wasn't covered by their protection policy, but wouldn't tell me why as I had jumped through all their hoops.
