Thanks for the advice.
It does seem a farcical way to run a company. You might have thought that, just for the goodwill involved they would honour the remaining passes. They've been paid for the service. I don't think my daughter running on a treadmill for a few more hours would save them much in overheads!
We will pursue the matter through the small claims court if necessary for the principle of the thing as much as anything else.0 -
Incidentally, came across this blog which claims that when you take out a membership with LA Fitness, you are actually agreeing to a LOAN from the co.
Not sure what the implications of that are, but would guess it's in their interests rather than yours.

Have just got 10 passes for £19 from Groupon. They work 100% - great deal. Includes all exercise classes. Only thing is you dont get a towel, but thats about it - everything else wonderful.0

The implications are that you have signed up for a whole year or 2 years and paid upfront - but it looks like a monthly membership. So you cannot cancel and the loan provider will set debt collectors on you if you 'leave' the gym and don't carry on paying for the whole yearlifeonanotherplanet wrote: »Incidentally, came across this blog which claims that when you take out a membership with LA Fitness, you are actually agreeing to a LOAN from the co.

See: ian-morris.com/2012/la-fitness-scam/You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
